Why isn't Slipknot on metal Archive? ›

So long as a band has a valid metal album it is acceptable. We do NOT accept the following (this is our decision, please don't argue this): Nu-metal (ex: Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Jinjer, In This Moment)

Between the Buried and Me has been classified as progressive metalcore, progressive metal, technical death metal, metalcore, and avant-garde metal, along with various musical styles: "One minute the band may be playing thrash metal and the next they're flowing into death metal growls and thick guitar riffs... the metal ...

It's a fantastic resource for, almost, all things metal. It's only failing is the sense of elitism that goes along with the website. They have a very strict definition of what they consider Metal that is unevenly enforced. Hair bands, metal-core, nu-metal and some bands that are borderline metal are not listed.

Encyclopaedia Metallum attempts to provide comprehensive information on each band, such as a discography, logos, pictures, lyrics, line-ups, biography, trivia and user-submitted reviews. The site also provides a system for submitting bands to the archives.

Musical style. Slipknot is most often considered a nu metal and alternative metal band, or heavy metal in general. They have included elements of groove metal, death metal, hard rock, grindcore, thrash metal, metalcore, and rap metal.

The kanabo is one of the best weapons in Mortem Metallum, alongside the brute mace. There is a debate about which weapon is better, and the truth is: there is no better weapon. It really depends on your style of playing. The kanabo takes more skill to use and has a lower crit chance, but has about 1 stud more of range.

Slipknot is barely even nu metal, their S/T and Iowa are filled with all sorts of musical references to death, thrash and sludge metal, as well as forays into industrial. This is on top of the fairly complicated rhythm section. Nu metal was basically just the core tenets of hip-hop but with metal instrumentation.

After years of both sides being silent and evasive as to the reasons for his leaving the band, Jordison revealed in June 2016 that he suffered from transverse myelitis, a neurological disease that cost him the ability to play the drums toward the end of his time with Slipknot.

A lot of up and coming Death Metal bands probably grew up on Slipknot. While opinions will vary, as Metal bands aren't monolithic, I'd say most of them would be neutral to positive on the subject of Slipknot. I'm sure some of them think they are fun to tour with.
